Meet Dr Aushi Patel

Holistic dentist, author and founder of Anokhi Veda.

For more than 30 years, I have helped people care for their oral health through modern dentistry. Along the way, I came to realise that true oral health is about far more than teeth alone.

It is about daily habits, balance and the connection between the mouth and the rest of the body.

Anokhi Veda was born where ancient wisdom meets modern dentistry.

My Story

My journey with oral health began long before I became a dentist.

Growing up in an Indian family, Ayurveda was quietly woven into everyday life. I have fond memories of watching my grandmother prepare herbal remedies and embrace the simple daily rituals passed down through generations.

At the time, I simply accepted them as part of life, never imagining how profoundly they would shape my future.

Years later, I graduated from King's College London and have now spent more than 30 years caring for patients. Today, I am the founder of Anokhi Dental in Sydney, where I continue to combine modern dentistry with a holistic approach to oral health.

Caring for thousands of patients taught me that the mouth is never separate from the rest of the body. Our nutrition, daily habits, stress, sleep and overall wellbeing all play an important role in oral health. The more I witnessed these connections, the more I was drawn back to the wisdom I had grown up with.

Through further study and my travels throughout India, I rediscovered Ayurveda with fresh eyes. I was struck by how naturally its timeless principles of prevention, balance and whole-person care complemented everything I was seeing in clinical practice.

Anokhi Veda was born from that realisation—a heartfelt blend of the traditions I grew up with, the wisdom passed down by my grandmother, and more than 30 years of modern dental experience.

My hope is to help you transform oral care from a daily routine into a meaningful ritual that supports the health of your mouth—and your whole body.

What Anokhi Veda Means

Anokhi means unique.

Veda means knowledge or wisdom.

Both words are derived from Sanskrit, the ancient language of India.

Together, they reflect the heritage, healing and lifelong learning
that sit at the heart of Anokhi Veda.
